It’s my birthday! Yipeee! I am so excited! On this day, the Lord saw it fit that I should enter this world…and today marks 30 years since I have been on this earth! I am very happy but most importantly I am grateful. So, today is a gratitude post because the Lord has been GOOD!
I am thankful for my family. My parents are my strongest cheerleaders, every day they are there for me. They are constantly in my life to make sure that all is well with me and I know they will move heaven and earth to provide the best for me. I am thankful for their sacrifices, and their love.
To my wonderful younger brother who can qualify as my big brother. Growing up we used to fight a lot but now that we are much older, I couldn’t have asked for a better brother. Every time we would fight, my mother would start screaming, “siblings are not sold at the market place, so you better take care of each other.” That has been with me every single day. My brother is the absolute best and he always has my back just as I have his. He is my board of wisdom and he also knows how to pull his small brother strings to get me to do what he wants…I can’t complain.
My extended family…my very large extended family, from my cousins to my uncles and aunties and my grandmothers, dead and alive, they are awesome! Their unending support is appreciated. Now, to my husband…sigh…what can I say? God blessed me oo…I am super grateful. When people say “marry your best friend”, I didn’t understand, but now I do. He is my superman and he is the definition of a companion, partner, supporter. He is definitely the sugar in my koko. In spite of all my troublesome ways, I’m still his person. Marrying him gave me a new family…chai! I am super grateful for the pure love and support they shower on me. They have accepted me as a daughter and sister and I am blessed. My in-laws are just amazing and I am so grateful that I have joined such a strong and united family.
To my friends, from PESDAC to KNUST days, to national service days and then to Ohio University and in the US in general…I have had a strong support system. I have learnt from them all and I have learnt what it means to be a friend and to have friends. My journey to 30 is sweeter because I have all of you. The memories I have always put a smile on my face…from Togo keke days to Barclays Bank shenanigans to China Panda adventures. Thank you all!
To the strong women I work with, they are my boss women, they empower me and they support me! I am grateful! To all those I have come into contact with I am just grateful for the opportunity to learn, to share my ideas, to engage in disagreements etc. The Lord has blessed me and I am just in awe of everything. My health has been good and even when faced with challenges, God has always come through!
To YOU who reads this blog and comments and shares etc. I am very very grateful! Beginning this blog was a challenge but you have all urged me on and I am thankful that you take the time to engage in my content.THANK YOU.
This is becoming too long and it is beginning to sound like some vote of thanks….but there are so many people to thank but I cannot mention everything and everyone but I am still very thankful for experience I have had in my life so far. I am ready to start this 30 journey and I can’t wait to see what it has in store for me! God bless you all! You are all invited to my jollof party….hehehe 🙂
